John Hunt (www.johnbarriehunt.co.uk) -

I trained as a painter at the Birmingham College of Art during the course i became interested in those ideas of pictorial representations that changed our view of what an image might look like and what it should represent. My work is a compilation of my investigations into those early ideas and how other painters have produced their own conclusions.

Francis Marvell-Carr -

This exhibition reflects Marvell-Carr’s feeling for nature and exploring art of the unconscious, as in “Ethereal Bodies” (exhibit no5). She studied textiles and has transferred her skills in texture and colour to painting and printmaking o f Midland locations. This current exhibition also reflects her lifelong interest in capturing moments with photography. These continue to inform and inspire her to further develop her printmaking work, as in “Woman, Man, Moon” (exhibit no6).

Carey Moon (Instagram: careymoonpaintings) -

I have started painting again after concentrating on ceramics for many years. Now I have returned to my first passion. I enjoy painting from life or motif - portraits, urban scenes and still lives - but I also relish “mashing things up” in the studio and adding some unexpected twists. I like to use collage sometimes - sniffing around the detritus of my kitchen table, I find a soupcon of something I can use: a label from a bottle, an old photo, a bit of text.
